Fancher Love Ranch

Sale Page May 2009

With updating my website still coming along, I've made a little more progress. Please take a look at the Calves for Sale Slideshow. Info on the calves is below. These are all show animals with excellent conformation and temperament. All calves are halter broke and tame. Most of them have been shown. All of them have DNA Certified Parentage Verification; essential for breeders with multiple herd sires. They are current on all vaccinations and come from a very stable herd environment. My herd thrives on a pasture diet of Coastal Bermuda/Native Grasses with very little grain supplementation. With Fancher Love Ranch calves, you know what you're getting--a healthy, sweet, people-centered, show ready calf!

Question: Hey, Dottie--Why'd you take the prices off the Salepage?
Answer: Well, lots of time people inquire; I tell them a price; and I never hear from them again! They don't haggle; I don't know if I missed the sale by $100 or $1000. Let me cut to the chase: I don't pay my bills with my cattle; I'm a college teacher and an artist and kind of a kook. I have plenty of land and good pastures this year, but we're also renovating our house, and I could sure use some extra income. I'm also open to trades/barter.

The bottom line is: if you see a calf you want, let's discuss it!

Last summer I created a slideshow of the whole herd--a virtual visit to Fancher Love Ranch. See it here. I hope you enjoy viewing it as much as I enjoyed making it!

Calves for Sale

Name: FLR Daniel

dark gray bull, 2/26/2008

Sire: Albert Farms Y.O.'s Texas Jake, 2006 AMZA National Grand Champion Senior Bull

Dam: FLR Pearl

Half-brother FLR Frosty was 2004 Grand Champion Junior Bull and 2005 Grand Champion Junior Bull. As with Kenya Caleb below, Daniel is very rangy now, as was Frosty at that age. Because our cattle are almost exclusively grass-fed, sometimes their legs grow faster than their bodies. All my calves that I kept really transformed at age 2. See the comparisons on their Dam's Pages (coming by May 31, 2009)

Name: FLR Kenya Caleb

deep red paint bull, 7/16/2008

Sire: Albert Farms Y.O.'s Texas Jake, 2006 AMZA National Grand Champion Senior Bull

Dam: 758 Indus

Half Brother FLR Mini Takka is a PGCH. Kenya Caleb is very rangy now, as was Mini Takka at that age. Because our cattle are almost exclusively grass-fed, sometimes their legs grow faster than their bodies. All my calves that I kept really transformed at age 2. See the comparisons on their Dam's Pages (coming by May 31, 2009)

Name: FLR Little Red Girl

deep red heifer, 9/26/08

Sire: FLR Mini Takka PGCH

Dam: HCK Rubyana

Little Red Girl is deep rich red with only a few small white spots

We're keeping Little Red Girl, but her mom's for sale.

Name: FLR Sanibel

gray heifer, 9/24/08

Sire: Shell Creek Ranch Peewee's Lil Prince

Dam: Shell Creek Ranch Mini Martha Mouse

SOLD--Thanks, Fernanda Sanchez Vega of Puebla, Mexico!

Sire is a four-time Reserve Grand Champion

Name: FLR Pinky c.o.w.

light red paint heifer, 12/14/08

Sire: FLR Mini Takka PGCH

Dam: HCK Rosalita

Pinky is keeping the very light red color and has a large streak of pink-spotted white down her right front leg.

Pinky's mom is also for sale.

Name: FLR Roosevelt

light red paint bull, 12/19/08

Sire: FLR Mini Takka PGCH

Dam: FLR Rocket

Dam is a two-time Grand Champion Senior Cow. Roosevelt has just a little paint, but has a gray moonspot on his left hip

Name: FLR Manchoso

deep red bull, 1/09/09

2008 Herd Sire: FLR Mini Takka PGCH

Dam: FLR Lizzie

"Manchoso" is Spanish for "little spot" as you can see on his forehead. Manchoso is a very well-put-together calf. I expect him to do well in the show ring as he grows.

Name: FLR Lucky

light gray bull, 1/04/09

Sire: Shell Creek Ranch Pee-Wee's Lil Prince

Dam: FLR Pearl

Sire is four-time Reserve Grand Champion. Half Brother FLR Frosty was 2004 Reserve Grand Champion Junior Bull and 2005 Grand Champion Junior Bull. Half Brother Tevan was a Reserve Grand Champion Junior Bull at 9 months. I think Lucky is the best bull calf out of this winter's calves. He's very bully, with a lot of body capacity and superior muscling.
